How to get to Khon Kaen

You need to arrange your flight from your country to Khon Kaen by yourself. You can transfer at either Suvarnabhumi Airport or Don Muang Airport in Bangkok and take a domestic flight to Khon Kaen at Don Muang Airport by these following suggested airlines: Nok Air, Thai AirAsia and Thai Smile.

How to get to Don Muang Airport
The free shuttle bus form Suvarnabhumi Airport to Don Muang Airport is provided on the second floor between gates 2 and 3.

– Taxi service is provided on the first floor between gates 4 and 7. The estimated driving time from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Don Muang Airport is 1 hour.
– Estimated flying time from Bangkok to Khon Kaen is 1.15 hour.
– Domestic check-in and baggage drop counter close at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

Note: Flight to Khon Kaen is not included in the Pre-Congress package.

Recommended Official Hotels for Pre-Congress

Hotel accommodation is not included in the Pre-Congress package.  You need to arrange your accommodation by yourselves. There are three official hotels suggested as below.

The official hotels offer special rates only for the participants of ISSCT Pre-Congress Tour 2016. These special rates are net rates inclusive of service charge and government taxes.

By using the official hotels, you will get free transfer service from airport to the hotels on 1 Dec 2016.

PRE-CONGRESS TOUR      2-4 DECEMBER 2016

Price per person USD 350

The Pre-Congress will start at Khon Kaen Province in the North-Eastern part of Thailand. The tour destinations will feature factory and agricultural tour on 2-3 December 2016. The delegates will visit both locations but on alternate days dividing into Factory & Agriculture groups.

The highlights of the programs are:

Factory
Mitr Phol Group (the biggest sugar group in Thailand), Phukieo Campus factory tour showcasing their innovative technologies “zero waste sugar and bio-energy park” for sustainability with three elements: economy, environment, and society. The highlights of the tour are:
Sugar Plant:
– Factory Management & Energy Saving
– GPS Control System from sugar cane field to factory
– Full Automation Warehouse
Bio-Power Plant:
– Large Stock Bagasse Management: Mitr Phol has the unique bagasse stock management. It stockpiles the bagasse in huge mountain of more than 18 meters high, and the stock is used from the bottom where its heat is highest provided to serve as a fuel for production of stream and electricity.
Ethanol Plant:
– How to manage the biggest factory in Thailand

On 4 December 2016, all delegates will be transferred to Chiang Mai by air taken to their Congress hotels according to their reservations.

09.00 Depart from hotel in Khon Kaen to Wat Nong Waeng.
12.00 Depart for Bua Restaurant.
09.10 Arrive at Wat Nong Waeng, the most famous temple in city.
10.00 Depart for Sala Mai Thai (Thai Silk Pavilion).
11.00 Arrive at Sala Mai Thai, the silk-weaving museum where you can learn about the entire silk-making process.
13.00 Arrive at Bua Restaurant. Enjoy lunch. 
14.15 Depart for Hong Moon Muang.
14.20 Visit Hong Moon Muang. The museum where historical articles of Khon Kaen are preserved.
15.20 Depart to hotel
15.30 Arrive at the hotel.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  1. Cancellation must be notified to the congress secretariat in writing by e-mail at th@gmail.com or fax to (662) 229-3346.
  2. All refunds will be made after the congress for administrative reasons and the administration fee will be charged.
  3. In case of cancellation due to bad weather or other uncontrollable factors, no refund will be considered.
  4. All fees will not be refunded when withdrawal is due to the registrant being unable to make his / her own travel arrangement, such as problems in application for visa or other travel document.
  5. The registration deadline is 30 September 2016.
  6. Cancellation schedule as follows:
             On or before 31 October 2016               50% Reimbursement
             After 1 November 2016                          No Refund
